guest profile: Marilyn & Bob (with Liz and Cris)

The first time that I met Marilyn, we were on the phone. She was final-interviewing me for a new position at WebJunction.org, a new project with new funding and they were looking for new people...I got the job.



This is a photo of me with the first employees at WebJunction. Marilyn's angels we called this one.

Marilyn has since been an incredible mentor to me. Over many years at WebJunction, Marilyn introduced me to who's who in library land, and then made me one of them. Pictured here (killing many birds with one stone seeing how close we are to our event date) is also Liz Kellison, my actual boss at the WJ for many years, who will also be in attendance with her partner Cris.



Since moving on last year from WebJunction, it has been wonderful getting to know Marilyn and her husband Bob and Liz and her partner Cris outside of our work together (though Marilyn's still on our Advisory Committee, so not completely off the hook!). An evening spent recently with these two over dinner in our new condo turned into (no offense to those reading along) "hands down, best guest night" in our new home. I look forward to many more years of socializing, inside and outside of our library community.
